Cobalt Veterinary Clinic is a 2 doctor, small animal hospital located in central Connecticut. We recently moved our practice to Cobalt from the adjacent town of Portland, CT. We were previously the Portland Veterinary Hospital. Cobalt is a very small part of East Hampton, which is known as Belltown, USA, because back in the 1800's the town had the most bell-making companies in the US. So that's where all those sleigh bells came from. Speaking of 1800's, the new location of our clinic is in a house built in 1823, which we renovated into an almost 5000 square foot veterinary clinic. It has all the charm and details of the original historic house but with the technical essentials of the veterinary world. When designing the clinic, we wanted to create an atmosphere that is comfortable and inviting to our clients and patients, but also flowed for our staff. We think James Herriot would be proud. We are a husband and wife veterinarian team, who actually live in Cobalt, where we are raising our 3 teenage children. We enjoy living in the town that we practice in, but we understand the need for balance between work and family. Even though we strive to make our staff feel like family while at work, our goal is to make a schedule that allows our staff enjoyable time away from work. We are open M-F from 8am to 6pm with a late night on Wednesday where we are open until 8pm. We are open on Saturdays from 8am to 1pm where we currently see technician only appointments. We are closed on Sundays with no on-call hours. We have a great support staff where our rooms assistants are with us for every appointment to help hold and assist with whatever is needed so that we can focus on the patient and the needed communication with the client. As a full-service, small town clinic, we have a reputation for great care with a personable staff, and having that connection allows us to have a large clientele-base that keeps us busy and actively learning. As for what we are looking for-- we are looking for a full-time veterinary who wants that small town feel. Someone who is good with people, hard-working, and self-motivated. Someone who enjoys not only veterinary medicine and the challenges it brings, but also enjoys conversing with and educating the people they encounter. We are looking for someone who wants to make connections with the animals that are being treated and form relationships with the owners who bring them to us. If you can't tell, family and community are important to us. So is practicing great quality medicine. We have our areas of interest and expertise, and we are supportive if you want to broaden what we offer as a clinic. We want to do what is best for our patients and service the clients that own them in any way possible. So if you want to join our family and help us care for our community, please reach out so we can get to know you. Clinic Features: - 5 spacious exam rooms with fold up/down tables
