Haymarket Veterinary Service is looking to add another motivated associate with a strong work ethic to our well-established equine ambulatory practice. We currently have 6 veterinarians and a great support staff who collaborate to provide compassionate veterinary care to our patients and exceptional customer service to our clients. We are seeking another associate help with our busy caseload so we can continue to provide the high standard of medicine we are known for, while keeping a happy work-life balance.
We are located in Northern Virginia, close to Washington DC, but also an easy drive to the beaches and the Blue Ridge Mountains, so there's something for everyone here! Our horse population is a diverse mix of hunter/jumpers, dressage, eventing, endurance, trail riding, western, pleasure, and companion horses. Our clients are knowledgeable and involved in the wellness and care of their horses. Fully stocked vet trucks are provided. Equipment includes NEXT DRs, digital ultrasounds, regenerative medicine, video gastroscopes, endoscopes, shockwave, cryopen, and always open to adding new technology. Our general caseload consists of preventive care, dentistry, lameness/performance, chiropractic, acupuncture, and medical cases, and our associates are strongly encouraged to develop their own interests and help increase the scope of services that our practice provides. With varied areas of expertise, the vets work together in a non-competitive environment to ensure that we are providing the best care and can offer mentorship to help develop a newer associate's skills.
We provide a fair base salary plus production as part of a generous compensation package with additional benefits including moving stipend, medical/dental insurance, professional liability insurance, matching 401K, all licensing, professional memberships, and continuing education. Vets are each provided very capable assistants during business hours. Emergency and weekend duties are shared among all vets. Best of all, our team approach and scheduling allows for everyone to enjoy their days off.
This opportunity is available immediately. Ideally, we are searching for a full time (4 day per week) associate; however, we will consider a part time or alternative work schedule for the right candidate. While experience is preferred, we are most interested in filling this position with an individual that fits in with our practice culture and clientele. Great communication skills, dedication to continued learning, and a team player attitude are some of the traits that we value. Lightheartedness and a sense of humor are a bonus!
