Are you an enthusiastic equine practitioner (either experienced or recently graduated) who wants to pursue equine medicine while also retaining good work/life balance? We’d love to have you join us! Sadly, Delmarva Equine Clinic is losing one of our much-loved associate veterinarians due to her husband’s military reassignment, and we’re looking for someone to fill her shoes. We are currently a 4 doctor practice and hope to remain as such. Veterinarians work a 4 day work week, and on call is shared equally (25%) among all doctors. We respect your personal time, & when you’re off, you’re off. Routine Saturday appointments are scheduled during the weekend on call. We offer a competitive base salary with production percentage & emergency fees paid quarterly. Additional benefits include Delaware & Maryland license fees, DEA & state-controlled substance licenses, AVMA, AAEP, & DVMA dues, professional liability insurance, CE allowance, health insurance, & various other benefits. A fully stocked practice vehicle is provided.
Delmarva Equine Clinic has been in business since the early 1990s, & we pride ourselves on the quality & timeliness of care that we provide to our patients. Our toys include 2 DR systems (working on acquiring a 3rd with battery-powered Poskom generator), digital US, video upper airway endoscope, shockwave, & power dental floats. A trained veterinary assistant/technician accompanies doctors during appointments to make the day flow smoothly. As we are affiliated with our sister small animal clinic, Governors Avenue Animal Hospital, we have in-house laboratory facilities available to us. All appointments are scheduled by our team of receptionists who are long-time knowledgeable horsewomen. One of our veterinarians is a board-eligible, residency-trained theriogenologist, & the others are certified in animal chiropractic. All our doctors are committed to continuing education & are happy to mentor newer graduates so that they can develop their own niche in the practice. Our caseload ranges from backyard pleasure horses to elite athletes and everything in between with a strong emphasis on reproduction & sport horse medicine. We enjoy a great working relationship with Penn Vet’s New Bolton Center & other referral hospitals in the area.
Our ideal candidate is a team player who has the confidence to work independently when needed but isn’t afraid to consult with colleagues when appropriate. We don’t take ourselves too seriously & encourage our staff to enjoy their time both on & off the clock. Both Delaware & Maryland licenses are required but relatively easy to obtain. Due to the nature of our practice, a strong interest or aptitude for reproduction is desirable, but we will happily mentor the right person. Acupuncture or chiropractic certification (or interest in obtaining such) is a plus.
Come join one of our team and take advantage of our excellent relocation and work/life balance packages!

• Up to $10,000 relocation expense reimbursement for moving expenses
• Extended CE allowance for special interests

• Paid Time Off PLUS a yearly vacation allowance. That’s right, we are going to give you money to spend on your vacation! We value work/life balance that much.
About the Area
We’re centrally located on the Delmarva Peninsula. You can be in Philadelphia or Baltimore in 90 minutes. The beautiful beaches are a mere hour away. We have all four seasons, but winters are relatively mild. Come see why we moved here for the weather & never left!
