Are you a veterinary student looking for a hands-on externship where you can build confidence, ask questions, and truly be part of the team?
Northern Veterinary Service, a thriving, privately owned mixed-animal practice in Linton, North Dakota, is offering externship opportunities for students who want real, high-volume clinical exposure in a supportive, low-pressure environment.
This is more than shadowing. You will be encouraged to get involved, think through cases, and grow at your own pace alongside a team that genuinely enjoys teaching.
What Your Experience Will Look Like During your time with us, you can expect:
Exposure to a robust, high-volume mixed-animal caseload across both small animal and large animal (bovine and equine) medicine
Hands-on involvement in advanced surgeries and field emergency care based on your comfort level and experience
The opportunity to work in a purpose-built 5,000 sq. ft. facility featuring a high-clearance trailer haul-in area, equine surgery stalls, and a fully equipped practice truck
One-on-one mentorship and guidance from a highly regarded expert practitioner known for exceptional surgical skill
Strong support from an incredible 3:1 staff-to-vet ratio in a proven, "no-drama" culture
