Guardian Veterinary Specialists is the only privately-owned, 29,000 sq. ft., 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital located in upper Westchester County, NY, one hour north of New York City.
We are looking to offer an exciting and unique opportunity for post-Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine graduates looking to gain more real-world and hands-on experience under the supervision and guidance of seasoned and talented professionals in the field. This is a paid rotating internship program where you will cycle through rotations with our ER and boarded specialty veterinarians, learning and working with the best. Our year-long internship provides unique opportunities for professional growth and development. While the program generally runs from mid-June to early July of the following year, we offer rolling admission, and may accommodate alternative start dates throughout the year. If you like your experience with us, there is potential to stay on and join our team of talented veterinarians.
GVS is comprised of motivated team players, dedicated to practicing the highest quality medicine. Our specialty departments include dermatology, internal medicine, anesthesiology, critical care; surgery (soft tissue, orthopedics, laparoscopy); neurology/neurosurgery; oncology; ophthalmology; cardiology; and rehabilitation. Imaging/diagnostics include MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, and ultrasound. Our emergency doctors greatly benefit from superior support and input from our specialty departments.
Location: Brewster, NY
Annual Salary: $70,000
Qualified applicants for this role must possess:
- Love of animals and a passion to help and heal, first and foremost
- Graduate of a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine program
- The desire to continually learn and grow
- Ideally, previous experience with small and large animals
- Great communication skills, as our veterinarians are communicating with our fur-parents for updates
- Willingness and ability to work overnight shifts
